The Buying Legal Council have announced the 2017 Legal Procurement Awards!

The Buying Legal Council, the international trade organization for legal procurement, has announced the launch of the first-ever Legal Procurement Awards. The goal is to identify and acknowledge the best industry initiatives in five areas of legal procurement, including Innovation, Collaboration, Teamwork, Best Use of Technology, and Process Improvement.

“Leaders in legal procurement are helping their companies save 10 to 20 percent or more of outside legal spend,” says Dr. Silvia Hodges Silverstein, executive director of the Buying Legal Council. “These awards are meant to provide a measure of recognition for achievement on the most relevant dimensions of skill and creativity.”

Legal procurement professionals from any industry and country can participate by submitting a detailed description of their project: From the project goal, strategy and implementation to the results of the project as well as budget and return on investment. The application/nomination is available at www.buyinglegal.com/awards. “We want to showcase the advances in legal procurement and best practices and honour those who are at the forefront of new developments,” says Dr Silverstein.

A group of experienced legal procurement professionals chaired by Marty Harlow, Procurement Director, Global Legal Services at GlaxoSmithKline, will serve as Award judges: SJ Aldridge Head of Procurement and Supply Chain at Prudential Assurance, Anja Buettgenbach, Sourcing Manager at Bayer, Susan O’Brien, Global Procurement Executive Designee, Risk and Compliance at Bank of America, and Suraj Prashad, Director of Global Procurement-Insurance Services at MetLife.

“We welcome submissions from legal procurement professionals located around the world. The judges are looking for successful initiatives that significantly improved performance of the Legal function and created material value for their organizations,” says Harlow. “We look forward to sharing the selected submissions with our members in addition to the legal industry and trust that these award winning initiatives will be innovative as well as inspirational.”

We hope you will participate!
