Queensland’s innovation ecosystem supports global aspirations of local legaltech company, Lawcadia.

Brisbane-based legaltech startup, Lawcadia, has announced funding by a local investment company with a passion for supporting home-grown entrepreneurs. Lawcadia will be ACAC Innovation’s 19th startup to receive investment in just over 12 months.

Lawcadia is disrupting the global commercial legal industry through technology and processes that have evolved the way companies and government find, engage and manage law firms.

“Companies and government need accurate, transparent pricing for legal services without compromising service or quality. At the moment this is not occurring,” explains Warwick Walsh, CEO and Founder of Lawcadia.

Lawcadia has global coverage in significant markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, UK, USA, and Australia. This means it can readily support companies that are based in Australia or international companies with Australian offices.

While global expansion is on the horizon for Lawcadia, Walsh confirms that they will continue to maintain their Brisbane headquarters.

“Queensland is fostering a strong innovation and technology culture and is the ideal place for a technology startup to be based,” says Walsh.

“I am excited about the future. This funding will see Lawcadia quickly expand our team and allow us to continue to optimise our platform and further our product development,” says Walsh.

“On the law firm side of our business, Lawcadia has over 25 top-tier, mid-tier, international and quality boutique law firms already registered. We are making a difference for companies and government clients, helping them manage their legal spend and saving up to 30% on legal costs.”

“Lawcadia has an innovative approach to solving the big issues in the commercial legal industry. This investment reflects the quality of the initiative, the growth potential, and the opportunity to shape the future of the global legal market,” says Andy Greig, founder and senior director of ACAC Innovation.
